Toshiba Sat. M35X S-163 laptop powerbutton problem.

If you keep this laptop on a desk, it works fine. But if you carry it on your lap, or shake it a little, it just clicks and turns off! I found the problem to be near the power button, and where the hardrive is mounted. If I tap that area, it turns off suddenly! And if i shut the screen on my laptop, and open it again, it turns off also! There's a vertial crack on the LCD screen-frame, near the hinges where it opens and closes.

My reasoning is that there's some sort of lose wire or connection near the power button area. But I may be wrong. Is this repairable?

Luckily, I have a full year warranty on this laptop (best buy 99$ warr.). But i'm not really warranty-smart. will that cover the repair? and if not, will i be stuck with this laptop forever? or will they replace it or something?

ALL thoughts and ideas WILL help! :(

Yes, it's repairable, I would bring it in for a warranty fix. They may not fix the crack on the screen frame, but they should fix the shutdown problem. I would say not to touch it or open it and bring it in ASAP.
