Toshiba Satellite A205 shutting off

I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5855, and it will randomly shut itself of. I had my uncle look at it( he works on computers some), and he said he didnt find any problem with it at all. He gave it back to me and i cant even get it to turn on in regular mode with vista. it booted up fine in safe mode.

It was doing the same thing a few months ago, and it stopped all of a sudden. well, the day after the warranty ran out, it started back up, and has gotten a lot worse.

here is what i think it is not. I do not think it is overheating, it normally runs about 53C, and the highest i see it go is about 63C, but doesnt get that high often. It isnt the video card triggering it, it shuts off even if there isnt anything graphic on the screen. It isnt the power supply, because the battery is charged and it is also plugged in the wall. I ran a few scans, and so did my uncle, and we did find anything for a virus. I have updated my bios.

Does any know any idea what the problem is, or if they are facing the same issue?

63C sounds a bit high for a laptop, so I wouldn't rule out overheating. It could be a faulty motherboard or GPU. Does it normally shut off after a certain amount of use or when you're doing CPU/GPU intensive operations?

normally when it shuts off, i am just on the internet, just on a forum site, or facebook, or something similar. i downloaded a program to monitor the temp, and i noticed that it normally shuts down at roughly 55C, which is normal temp when it is loading a website, or some kind of program.

I would try reinstalling windows. If it does it after the install we know its not a virus. My new laptop gets to about 175F very WARM and it does not turn off. Laptops have to get really got for them to turn off that I have noticed. Your temps seam fine, Id say its a virus or the motherboard.
