Toshiba Satellite X3000 and big internal HDD

hello,

I have just recieved this laptop and I want to upgrade the hard drive. I know there is some limitation on old pc. I want to buy a 80 or 160 Go hard drive for this laptop. Is it possible ? thanks for your answers,

An 80GB will work fine. I don't know if the system supports 48bit LBA though. It's old enough that if it does it would likely require a BIOS update. No 48bit LBA means hard drives are limited to 137GB (127GB windows formatted), you can use a bigger hard drive like a 160GB but you wont be able to format to it's full size.
