toshiba wont boot up

whatever problem my laptop had finally caught up with it
it was acting up before, kept going off i finally did a chkdisk and was able to use, that was a couple weeks ago (thankfully i copy all my important documents on disk)
now it won't boot up at all. It gives me the message that windows couldn't start and gives me options to start in safe mode and so forth but no go is there something i can do to get it back to a spot where i can reinstall windows and get rid of this virus

You could go into safe mode and remove the virus manually

it doesnt always work deleting in safe mode. might be the virus has deleted his boot MBR or something.

Then safe mode wouldnt be an option
