I've been reading/hearing lots of different opinions between these cpu's. I'm leaning towards an AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+. it's $500 bucks but I think it's worth the extra flow. The contradiction comes in when people tell me about the AMD Opteron 160. I purchase mostly from www.zipzoomfly.com and they don't even list that one, they have the 150 which is $380 there. Now the reason I'm leaning towards the 4400+ is because I like the multitasking abilities. To my knowledge I should be able to run virtually anything in the background while playing a game. What's the dilly with this Opteron? Would love some feedback fellas, I'm purchasing today hopefully. Thanks.
 
If it were me i would go with the AMD 64 x2 4400+. The Opteron wouldnt be as good for gaming. The Opteron was built for servers (not saying you cant use it in a desktop).
