Transfer an Application?

I have a laptop that will need to have the OS reinstalled. Cannot do anything with the laptop other than reload. I can however remove the hard drive and connect it to another PC to access the drive. There is an application on there that I would like to keep if possible. Is there a way to copy the app from the drive back onto the laptop?

Nope. You need to reinstall it. Some applications work with a simple copy-paste, but that's rare.

This software claims it can do it: Laplink PCmover

I've never used it but have read reviews about it that says it works well but takes a long time to complete. Also, there are still some programs that it isn't able to move.

Hope this is not late.
I have moved all the applications to my new laptop few weeks ago.
I connected the two laptops to the same LAN, and used "todo pctrans" to do the job.
It was quite simple with several clicks.

What application is it?

Sometimes you can move the directory and it works okay. Some applications are less sensitive to registry dependencies than others. There's really no way to tell without trying though.
