Transfer Files from Mac to PC??

Hey guys I am a bit of a noob when it comes to computers so I need some help.

My friend tried to send me 30GB of video files via a flash drive. He plugged the flash drive into his 2010 Mac computer, loaded the files onto it, and then mailed me the drive. I plugged the flash drive into my brand new 2015 PC and my computer didn't recognize the media device at all. I did some reading and converted it to work for PC but I forgot that when I deleted the partition, all the files would be deleted too.

I am sending the flash drive back to him, but how do we get the files from his Mac to my PC? Preferably by an external media device.

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

The flashdrive will need to be formatted as exFAT so that not only can his Macbook and your PC see the partition, but the file will also be able to copy to the flashdrive and not have the 4GB file limit that FAT32 has.

Thanks for such a fast reply! How do I format it for exFAT? I'd like to do that now before I ship the drive back to him.

Just right click the drive in Computer, click Format. Change the file system to exFAT, set the allocation unit to default, and tick the box for quick format.

Ok just did that. His Mac being a 2010 won't have a problem with this file system? Now if I ship it back to him and he reloads the files, I should be able to see them when he ships it back this time?
