Transfer files from old xbox 360 to new 360

I have a few saved games on my current xbox 360 ( arcade ) , I bought the new elite 360 and I want to transfer the files from the old 360 to the new one. I dont have a xbox transfer cable, nore do I have a memory card. Is there any other way I can transfer the files? Perhaps using an external hard drive? our over the network?

Unfortunately no I looked into this for a few months when dogin the same thing.. I just ended up spending the 15 bucks for the cable..
