transfer of a Harddrive

ok i have two computers one of then is a windows xp system and the other is a windows 2000 system i think and i want to put my windows 2000 HD into the xp system. how do i go about doing this
 
Open up both computers, remove the one hard drive you want to transfer. Then slide it into a slot on the recieving computer. Plug the wires in and make sure to set it as a "slave" drive (little little thing on the back of the drive usually). You should be good to go then.
 
Do you want to take the hard drive out of your XP machine? or do you want to just trade the hard drives? if you want to install it and also keep the one you have now, then you can just plug it into your new system, and if its SATA, then there is no slave. Although if you want to trade it for the other hd, then you will most likely have to reinstall the os onto it.
