in the new case, the reset button turns my pc on and off, and the power button doesn't work. i'm pretty sure the connections are right..ne thoughts?
case: Raidmax RX-9GT
mobo: crappy one from an HP Pavilion a1101n

maby you didnt connect it right. like you put the reset where the on/off one should go. have you tried to switch them?

Thing with hp is that most models dont have a reset button on them, just a power button, so there is no way of hooking up a reset switch on a new case when the original never had one.
Unless your model had a reset button...mine didn't...

yea, mine didn't have a reset button either, just one big grey one, yet there was a place on the mobo for it. no i haven't switched them yet, i am gonna do that tomorrow. hopefully it works, i'll let you know tomorrow, thanks. Also, i do have another question, with that case that i have, RX-9GT, the lcd display stays on when i shutoff my psu, is that normal? I'll probably just contact raidmax, but i like the forum better, thanks :).

depending on how the lcd is connected, but if its connected to the motherboard directly then even with the computer shut off there is still power to the motherboard. You should see a green light on the motherboard on if thats the case. the only way to shut it off totally is to kill the power supply switch on the back of the case.
