Transfering a CPU

I'm transferring a cpu from one board to another. This is the first time I've done this. Do I need to get more thermal compound and are there any tools to make this easier? Is there anything I need to look out for?

Yes, you will need new thermal compound. You don't really need anything to make it easier...you just pop it out of it's socket, and drop it into its new one.
