Transferring bookmarks

Is there a way to transfer all the bookmarks from Firefox to the new IE7 favorites? I've been using FF for a while, and now with IE7 I'd like to start using it more but I need to transfer my favorites to IE7. Thanks

There is if you can find them? The only reference to book marks in the mozilla folders is found in "C:\DocumentsandSettings\your user name\application data\Mozilla\FIreFox\profiles\???\bookmarkbackup\*.html".

da5176, don't listen to him

Go to the bookmarks tab, and click organize bookmarks. Then under file, click export, and save it as a file. Then open that file in IE, and just bookmark all the sites.

There is no direct way to directly export them, that is the fastest way that I know of.

Disagree? He gave absolutely no help whatsoever, the same thing as he does in every post of his that I read. It really gets on my nerves.

However, if I continue on this track, I'm gonna get in trouble. So I'll retract the idiot, will that make you happy?

I believe that you are overreacting to this whole thing I was just putting in my 2 cents and think that you should have more respect for your elders. Anyway there is no further need to continue this.

Putting in a 2 cents that has nothing to do with the topic should not exist. If you wanted to confer with me about that, you should have used the handy dandy PM feature. If you want to talk more, please make use of it. ;)

What PC Eye said was of no value to the original question. What Bobo suggested was much more helpful.

It has a direct bearing on the original question. But you are more interested in showing disrespect to da5176 that actually offering any "USEFUL ADVICE"!

You don't even put that much in. You're only interest is coming in and tearing up threads!

Nuw to get back to you da5176 despite lack of consideration shown by some once you have copied the html files to an easier folder to use you simply double on one to see IE open up to a page full of links. IE can't import them but you can paste them directly into the "docs+settings\user name\favorites folder". As soon a you copy one there you can open the favorites in IE and it will appear as an added link at the bottom.

Thanks guys, I made it work. You can do as suggested to get the bookmarks to transfer to IE and simply be added to the list of favorites. Then go back and delete the duplicates. Thats just what I was wanting to do. Thanks:D

Once you copy the backup files into favorites and open the pages up you can go to each link seen there add those direct to favorites and later delete the single link created by the backup file. But if you start seeing a ton of links you want to keep them just as one link. You can add and delete them while IE is open allowing to add/subtract at any time. You can also backup all of the links from both into a separate folder in case you need to reinstall IE or FireFox for some reason(like first trying out a beta of a newer version).
