Travelmate C310 - Take it or leave it?

So a friend offered me their old Acer Travelmate C310 tablet PC for $150. I've always wanted a tablet and figured my sweetie could use one in her arts. Aside from being a bit dirty and having cracks in the plastic around the screen, it appears to be fully functional. I actually found an ebay auction for the exact machine with identical stress cracks (poor design I guess :P)

I'm not 100% sure of the specs, but I know it's a Pentium M. I'm not too concerned though. I have an 80GB drive I could throw in there if need be and 2GB of RAM that should work. I could probably also find a DVD burner from our pile at work. I think the battery holds some charge. I only played with it for a short while, and it was completely drained when I got it.

So...assuming the specs are as listed on ebay, though with an 80GB drive, 2GB RAM and a DVD-RW, $150 sound good? Oh...it's also German :P Keyboard's a little different and OS will obviously need to be reloaded.

i think that sounds quite good, as long as the damage isnt to bad and as long as it is using a qwerty keyboard i would definatly take it,

it has some ok specs, its got geforce 6200, min of 80 GB hard drive says it already has a dvd burner also an when new an 8.5 hour battery life (or so they claim)

may want to see if you can be cheeky and get the price down as the os isnt of use to you

pentium m 1.73 ghz and ddr 533mhz btw

The damage appears to be stress fractures, I don't think it's anything beyond the plastic. Keyboard isn't qwerty (more like qwertz :P) but it doesn't differ that much. It should run an English driver no problem. Plus I know where the keys are well enough, it shouldn't matter if they're "mis-labeled". I'm not concerned about the OS. Even if it were original and freshly loaded, I'd probably still reload it myself.

yeah that should solve the problem, i thought they used qwerty in germany but looks like i may be wrong

sounds great then i def buy it

the one you linked to has other problems apart from stress fractures so it lloks like a good price

Those Acer tablets are total junk. I had one at work one time and it was a total nightmare. It needed a motherboard repair of over $300 and the customer still wanted to do it.
