Trojan help

I ran into a trojan horse by the name of SHeur.BROU can anyone recommend a way of getting rid of this or a program that would help, Thanks

I am sorry but, why are you running in to so much stuff like this? I mean you post a new thread like every day about something new.

Have you tried Spybot Search & Destroy? It's free and the amount of malicious software it can detect is vast. I think it searches for a bit under 170000 items and it can fix most. Only thing I found that it couldn't fix was Vundo/Virtumonde which is supposed to be one of the hardest trojans to get rid of.

Post a Hijackthis Log

  • Download Hijackthis from here
  • Open Hijackthis
  • Click on "Do a system Scan Only"
  • Click on "save log"
  • A notepad window will open
  • Hit Ctrl + A
  • Copy + paste in a forum reply

Then we can go from there.

If after that you are still infected, please post a Hijackthis log. To post a Hijackthis log, please do the following:

* Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
* Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
* By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
* Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
* Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
* Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
* At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
* Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
* Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
* Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
* Come back and create a new thread and Paste the log in your post, using Hijackthis in your Subject bar
* DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

We will look at your log as soon as we see it, and give you further instructions on how to fix your computer. Most of the time it will involve downloading more programs that will either give us logs to locate the malware or delete those malware.

Once you have posted a HJT Thread DO NOT make any changes to your PC unless the advisor helping you has instructed you to do so!

That's because I'm a tech. I have many computers that are brought in. And I removed it.:P

Yes this one had a vundo infection as well. I manually had to delete it. And it works great now!

One thing that bothers me is, you are spamming threads about the problems of your OP-s. That bothers me because most of them you already fixed. You don't have to brag about your skills and knowledge, we understand -.-

But if you need help to help the OP-s then you don't even deserve to work as a technician .

Well if they had a way to delete posts I would.

I had to go into the registry and delete keys. I also had to go into system32 folder and delete some icons and .dll files and in the system information folder. I used avg and malware bytes to list the directory of the infections and then went to them. So I went in and deleted them manually first then had the two programs delete the same thing to make sure it was gone. I was surprised about that it let me delete them manually and put them in the trash. Because some infections don't let you be able to send it to the trash.

Briguy, I know you can't delete threads, but if you solve a problem on your own could you please post or edit your original post to indicate that, so that we don't waste time preparing a response to problem that has already fixed.
