i'm not amazing with computers but i'm getting better. i'm learning slowly, i'm interested in connecting my laptop which has wireless internet to my old desktop which has no access to the internet.(i dont care about the second not having internet...its just extra information) i wish to access the files stored on my desktop using my laptop without the files being transfered to my laptop as there is limited space on it. i would also still like to use some of the functions on my desktop such as office.

laptop has vista premium, desktop has xp

so is there a wire or sumin i can use to do this...please try to keep it simple.

all faq pages on the net haven't helped me

cheers :)

Do you know what version of vista and XP????

Also you won't be able to use the office on xp as if it was installed on your vista laptop.

You can remote desktop, which is remote control the computer (that depends on the versions of windows).

If you want to do it wirelessly you will have to connect your desktop to your router and then create a home network.
