Hello, first time poster here.
I'm currently at college and I'm trying to speed up my internet connection by hooking up an Ethernet cable as opposed to connecting wirelessly.
When I type ip config/all into the command prompt I am told that dhcp is disabled, even after I have selected automatically obtain Ip and dns server in ethernet properties. I followed the steps outlined here
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001048.htm
So my computer tells me that it is set to find the ip automatically for both IP and DNS server but the command prompt tells me it is still not enabled. I've tried this on my other laptop and I have the exact same problem. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I can't study with this slow of a connection!
