Trouble installing Itunes help!!!!

for my b-day my mom bought me the new ipod nano and when i went to download itunes a message came up saying "The installer cannot upgrade for Quicktime 7 for windows public preview. please uninstall it first". i can find any quicktime software on my comp...any help on what to do???

edit : if after this quicktime is still giving probs, do a complete uninstall and
delete the quicktime.qtp file from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\QuickTime folder.

empty you thrash and restart
