Trouble installing USB/Card reader

I can't seem to connect my new usb/card reader to my motherboard. This is the drive that I bought, except mine is the model without a sata port.

I believe I unplugged the wire from the card reader that was for the fire wire and the wire that was for the 6 channel audio. I won't be using those features and thought that I could unplug them. I am left with power cable and a usb cable. There is no where to plug the usb to on the motherboard so I thought that I am supposed to use the female usb connector and connect the end to my usb header. The end of the female usb adapter is, 4 wires ending in single pins. It says Black is GND, Green is D+, White is D-, and Red is VCC. This is not enough for my usb header, which takes 9 pins I think. Am I missing a cable? or am I missing something else? Thanks for any help.

no. this is the pin order of a 9-pin USB header.

BLANK BLACK WHITE WHITE RED
BLACK BLACK WHITE WHITE RED

the blank spot can be ignored as well as the first black pin on the bottom as they are for an extra ground. so 8-pins is sufficient for a USB header.
