I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I installed the Vista update. After restarting my computer, I can't open any programs. My anti-virus does not startup anymore, and when I select in the start menu, it does not open. Firefox, MS Office does not open. The only program I can open is Internet Explorer. I tried a system restore twice, and get an error. Whan can I do? Is my only option re-installing Windows?

That's the only thing I can think of. You can't get into control panel and uninstall the update I assume?
Vista is horrible with the updates. Mine got completely screwed up after an update; I'd advise turning it off if/when you reinstall.
