trying to delete norton

hi
got norton 360 for my new laptop,it already has norton internet security on it,so deleted that....but everytime i try and load new norton 360 it says that old norton is found and is deleting.
but keeps doin this,been trying for ages to load but same message comes up and keeps restarting laptop
any ideas

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool then re-install

How did you "delete" it? Using the Add/Remove Programs I hope.
