Trying to format Hard Drive

I found a hard drive for cheap at a flea market and when I pluged it in I found it had linux on it. I want to format it but dont know any of the usernames or passwd. Can any one help me out.

I do have the Dell Reinstallation cd for xp

Yup, that's it. In the BIOS change the boot order to start with the CD drive, and then when it asks if you want to boot from the CD, click yes. Installation should continue from there.
