Trying to get sound in DSL

I'm using Damn Small Linux and I'm trying to get it to do sound. It see's the audio card. It thinks it's a intel. It's a realtek AC97. I can adjust the settings for the sound and no sound. And yes I checked to see if it was muted, it's not.


Any ideas? I'm running it as a virtual operating system.

When you are running it in a virtual machine, it's not going to see your real sound card. It is going to see a "virtual sound card", so you are probably using the wrong driver.
