Trying to go wireless with notebook

I have a IBM 770 notebook with Windows 98 and I am trying to connect wireless with my Speedstream 6520, I tried a Netgear pc card for several hours only to find out it will only work with Windows 98 SE and newer.
Can anyone recomend the best way to connect with my notebook,Windows 98 and my Speedstream 6520?
