Trying to make a complex short-cut in windows...

Just out of curiousity, I was wondering if there was any way I could create a shortcut on my desktop and include some fairly complex steps as the arguments part of the shortcut.

This is really just to allow me to be more lazy. I frequently use a program where once opened I have to press 'Ctrl-Q' to open the 'Quick Connect' window and then type in the url manually. I was just wondering if I can get the shortcut on the desktop to do all this for me?

I'm aware you can type some arguments that are executed as certain programs are opened, but I'm not sure if this arguments section is capable of doing things such as simulating a 'Ctrl-Q' press. If this is possible, it would be cool if you could let me know what to put as the argument after the actual program location inside the shortcut properties. Cheers!
