Hoping I can get some help here. I am hooking my Dell Inspiron 1525 up to my printer which is a Lexmark Z725. I am hooking it up using the usb cable. The error message I am getting when I try to print is "Communication Not Available, The Printer Cannot Communicate with the Computer, Please turn on Enable Bidirectional Communication setting in the printer properties dialog."

I do not see where to turn that on at in the print properties. I have the latest driver downloaded for the printer and I am using Vista. It use to work just fine when I would print from this laptop but about a week ago it just stopped working.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Go your control panel, and look for Printers and Faxes, right click properties on the printer, click on Ports, at the bottom there should be a check box for "Enable Bidirectional
Support" check it and hit apply. Hopefully this will start working as it should, if not, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the device.
Good luck
