Well, i have a HP Pavilion a735w Desktop PC and i want to start playing games like red orchestra, Day of Defeat, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, counter strike, etc but i know that my PC wouldn't like me to play these games. ;)

I'm not on a huge budget and i just want to upgrade my memory and graphics card if it's possible (... and if it's even a good idea to) but i have no idea what to get. Here's my specs...

Base processor and speed
AMD Athlon(B) XP 3000+ 2.10 GHz
Advanced 400 MHz front side bus
Socket A

Chipset
Via KM400A

Motherboard
ASUS name: A7V8Z-LA

Memory
Component Attributes
Ram (installed) 512 MB (1X512MB)
Maximum allowed 1 GB (2 x 512MB)
Speed supported PC2700 MB/sec
Type 184 pin, DDR1-333 SDRAM
DIMM slots Two
Open slots One available

Hard drive
80 GB Ultra DMA
7200 rpm

Video graphics
Integrated with up to 64 MB allocated video memory

I was thinking of bumping my memory up to 1GB and i know nothing about this but this is the first thing i saw that looked good to me... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131262

So, is it a good idea for me to attempt this "upgrade" or is there a different route i should be taking?

It would be a good idea to upgrade your ram, if you don't want to spend to much money i recommend corsair value.
The card you have chosen will be a step up from your onboard, but you will not be able to play the games you want at full settings! Id reccomend a 6600GT AGP which is is much quicker but at around $140 its a bit more than you was looking at with the other card.
If you have a bit more cash you could always swap the board out for a PCI-E and go for something like a 6800GT or GS which will play the games listed fine on full at 1280 x 1024:)
