TuneUp Utilities 2010

Hi everyone, I've got TuneUp Utilities 2010, and i just wanted to know, is programs like these bad for your PC? as I've found its helped my PC, and i see no damage =O?
 
I never had problems with it but i saw only improvement after i ran it and then for maybe 1 or 2 hours my pc was good. But then after that the pc went to it's slower stage. I wont trust those programs anymore. It wont harm your pc if you know what you are doing but still, i dont trust it.
 
It's suppose to be a decent program but anything that supposedly fine tunes the registry is a "no no". One false deletion/modification could stop the lot.
As for the rest of the program, it is only shortcuts and a fancy GUI pointing to what most people on this forum would manually alter anyway.
 
Alot of people use this, Im guilty...Im curious to know if anybody has ran some test to see if it actually slows down a system. The 1-Click Maintenance really gives a non-tech person the feeling there actually making a difference.
