Yeah, it depends on what you're doing. I'd say the turion can get you higher (just a little) performance than a pentium M when gaming. Some 3D calculations can be a little higher too, but sometimes the GPU and RAM will help on those ends. I, myself, prefer the Pentium M because it's Intel, very reliable, and used widely. Software makers/developers widely use Intel systems. I was an AMD fan back when they first came on the scene- if you asked my back then, the AMD was faster at what I was doing, but the Intel was hands-down more reliable. Nowadays, it's a toss up, but I prefer the Centrino chipset, great for mobility and battery life.
