Turion, Athlon, and Pentium M

Hi, I was wondering how the Turion, Athlon, and Pentium M (all mobile processors) would compare if they had the same specs. I've heard that the Turion is basicly AMD's version of the Pentium M. Is this true? Also which of these processors would be best for gaming?

yes it is the best for everything. its a really good processor and beats out the turion and althon mobile in everything.

i wouldn't say that. every benchmark i have seen they are neck and neck. the pentium M does a lil better on power management but both processors are good buys.

ya thats what i meant and it does do a good job in power management. but your right both are really good processors.

Actually I'll have to agree with you on that. The Pentium M does match and slightly edges out Turion on many tests and apps. Sometimes blows it away. And of course increased battery life is always a plus. :D

I believe there are new tests out that shows it matches and sometimes nudges it AMD's. Benchmarks will differ on different applications and of course speed of RAM, and HD will also determine a systems overall performance.
 
i duno id get the turion 64, less power... same performance as athlon 64... less heat... and though it has less performance than penitum m, id say its a really good 64-bit processor.

You should consider the PM, I'm not sure how well they stack up to eachother when price is taken into the calculation though.

So the Turion64 is pretty much the same as the Athlon64? Would Athlon be better for gaming?
