any idea how to turn off a fan failed notice on a dell dimension 3000.

i'm getting this error message pre post when i know full well the fans is working fine, i can see it!

tis the cpu fan by the way

i knew where it was in the bios on older dells but i be buggered if i can find it on here?

One thing that may help here is the "fan not detected" error message in the troubleshooting section at Dell found at http://support.dell.com/support/top...d=4AD01B6559D511DB8D1A7D802B351F27&l=en&s=gen

The other option would be to email Dell's tech support staff with a request. You will probably find that the cpu fan is monitored with a hardware monitor in the bios itself and has a rpm threshold assigned to it by default. If you can lower that the message should stop appearing. Make sure the fan is plugged in at the right connector on the board as well.

I could be that the fan is just running to slow and hasent stopped yet, have you checked the RPMs of the fan?
