Turn off Vista disc preparer?

Is there a way to turn off the super annoying disc format thing that vista does when you put in a cd-r or dvd-r? Its interfering with some of my burner programs now because it wants to format the disc when i tell the program to burn.

Add/Remove Programs->Add/Remove windows programs->Click the + beside Media Features->Uncheck windows DVD Maker, that should work..
