tv card and cable splitter question

I have cable in the room that i have my desttop. If I get a Win tv-hvr-1066 card (77.00 decent for xp?), can i split the incoming cable to connect to the card?

What's desttop? Desk top? Anyways if you have a cabal signal coming in and you want to connect it to a tv and to your pc it will work. If you have a TV tuner with dual coaxial inputs, it should be exactly the same. As there is no reason or logic when you would need to have 2 seperate cable lines coming in
