I'm looking to buy a 20" lcd monitor but I'm not sure which way to go.. Is it better to buy a monitor with a tv tuner built in, or a normal monitor and get a tv tuner card for the computer.. which will also allow to record, but will the quality greatly reduced this way...
I use auto cad a lot so I'm thinking the 20" lcd will be easier on the eye..
Thank you

Using a TV as monitor:

(Generally speaking) Pros:
Integrated co-ax input: you won't have to buy a TV tuner and will have an extra PCI slot open.
HDMI, composite, component etc. inputs: If you want to hook up your XBox to your monitor, you can play it on your monitor-tv when you're not using your computer. That way you get the benefits of a dual monitor setup, while having a TV for console games as well.

Cons:
Higher response time: Monitors tend to have a much faster respond time.
Cost: Typically, a TV of a certain size will always be more expensive than a monitor of the same size. With the exception of the 28+" monitors. Monitors also tend to be a bit sharper in image quality, but all that depends on the specific TV and monitor you're looking at.

Hope this helps
