TV not showing correct resolution for PC

hi all,

my tv isnt showing the correct resolution for my PC, why is this

its too big for the screen, ive connected it via HDMI to tv but to the PC i have a HDMI/DVI converter

can anyone help me out?

You need to change the screen resolution on your computer.
Not sure where it is on W8 it's been awhile since I used it.

mmm its wierd because whatever resolution i pick on the PC its output on the TV is far bigger than the tv and i dont really understand this?

is there a setting on the TV i need to change?

Why are you not using the PC input?
You could try changing the aspect ratio on the TV.

basically it was nothing to do with windows display settings or my tv settings it was to do with my Nvidia settings (right clicking on my desktop and clicking nvidia) i just had to change the size to fit the screen, simple really
