I have the Geforce FX5200, and it allows TV output, but tryign to get it to work is a nightmare.

I have it all plugged in, the software is downloaded, and it is set to clone so it can view it on both tv and pc.

But there is just no output what so ever, no picture on the TV at all.

Any suggestiosn or help?

Thanks

When you find the answer it will be something like unplugging the monitor to allow Windows along with the software to detect the tv itself. ATI cards come with the expanded desktop utility for use on multiple monitors. But that never helped with S-video. I ran into the same thing on an ATI Radeon 9550 265mb AGP card. I'm still waiting to find a fix here.

If I'm not mistaking, that videocard will clone the main display on TV-Out during POST/bootup. Do you see anything whlie your machine is booting on the TV? Perhaps try to ONLY have TV-Out connected when your booting...

I know my Radeon did this, but I'm not sure if the 5x00 series do or not... I just figured this way we could figure out if it's a problem with the card and/or cable, or just some software problem...

It could be the input selection on the tv as well. When you bootup go through the different input settings on the tv itself to see if you see a glimpse of the post screen. Software features for extended desktops are what are usually found in the Catalyst Control Center on the monitors tab. It is supposed to a software configuration for using additional monitors. Eventually I'll get around to support request on this at ATI.
