Tv Output on Intel Graphics card.. help?!

I read about the onboard video for my computer and it's suppose to have tv out when using the appropriate adaptor, which I purchased, and I can't get anything on my tv except black moving lines with fuzzy white dots.

I also can't find a single tab to change the card from monitor to tv..

I have a D2823 Emachines with the stock Intel Extreme 3D card, using the Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller.. I'm also using the most up-to-date driver for this.

Can anyone help?! I don't know if I explained enough, please help :(

It's a cable that plugs into the monitor port and has a S-video output as well as a RCA Video output.

Ah, those things. I've really never messed with them so I don't know exactly how they work...about got one for my Macintosh...

Anyway, have you played with the resolution any? Maybe it should be dropped?

Again, I don't really know how those work... I don't know if they will adjust the screen for you or if you must manually set the resolution and all. A standard TV runs at 720x480 @ 60Hz, interlaced.

I don't know if your little converter does this or if you do have to somehow set the video card to these settings... I cant tell you because I've never tried one.

Thanks for the help, my computer doesn't let me set it that low manually.. maybe there are programs out there than I can do it with? Do you know of any? Last resort, what would be a good inexpensive card that would allow me to hook my pc into my tv to watch dvds I've backed up.. I don't need real high end for gaming or anything, the most I'd do with it is normal use, surfing the net, chatting on messenger, watching movies.. any suggestions? My computer utilizes only PCI slots.. again the cheaper the better :)
