TV stick software

I've got a USB DVB terrestrial stick but the Hauppauge software (the latest WinTVv7) causes explorer to freeze. I've uninstalled the software but kept the sticks drivers installed and the freezing has disappeared.

My question is - has anyone any experience with free media player software such as "Media Portal" for watching/recording TV on their computer. I know windows media centre is available but I haven't got it

If anyone's running "Media Portal" or similar, does it do the job?

media portal should do the job but i have a TV pci card and i had the same problem i got the first version the hauppauge software and it works.

i had to reinstall and i lost the software i cant find it anywhere but there website and it didn't work, if you find the software please tell link
