When I went into my System Properties I found that that have 512 MB of physical memory, but that only 184.47 MB is available to me. I can't understand that. Please explain if you can.
Too, I have 2.00 GB of "Total Virtual Memory." I don't understand "virtual memory." And 1.96 GB is available to me.
Can anybody explain?
Thanx.

You just have lots of programs using up your physical memory. Virtual memory is simply your harddrive being used as RAM. When you run out of physical memory, your computer steals a little bit of the harddrive space. Beleive me, it has to with some things. FarCry, for example, easilly fills up a gig of RAM

uh... you have 512mb installed in your computer but you've used 328mb of it meaning you got 184mb left
