two distros of linux, one dvd?

Ok, im sure i made a thread about this but after searching, i cant find it.

My question is how can i put say 2 distros of linux on one dvd and be able to chose which one i want to boot to?

i always thought it would work, but when i asked this same questions, everyone said either don't know or no. BUT, I actually have an extra dvd or 3 lying around, so I might be-able to try it. except they are dvd+r's, not dvd+rw's, so it might be harder in this situation.
