Hi, I have a problem, seek help.

Which of these processors is better suited for graphics and gaming?

- Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz

- Intel Pentium D 945 3.4 GHz, 2x 2MB L2 cache

I apologize for the incorrect language;)

The 945 will be a little better but not by much. Your performance in gaming is dependent on the cpu, ram, and video card. Not just the cpu.

you will need a more powerful CPU to handle newer games. I C2D or C2Q, assuming that its the 775 socket (think that the PD was solely 775).

An Athlon II Triple-Core processor would be an option to put at the heart of a system if you are looking to build a system with a budget. The Pentium D is an obsolete processor.

Athlon II 445 Triple-Core (3.1 gigahertz) Processor - $77

Here is a motherboard that will work with it:

GIGABYTE GA-MA78LMT-S2 Socket AM3 Micro ATX Motherboard - $68

Edit: The Athlon II 445 Tri-Core Processor has about 300% more processing power than the Pentium D 945.
