Two questions....

1. will a low profile graphics card work in a desktop computer?

2. I am a proud owner of a computer that only has PCI slots. great for me. no not PCI-E, PCI.

anyway i've been looking for a good graphics card for high graphics games, namely world of warcraft. i've have a few choices of what to buy, tell me what you think. (BTW i have 1g of ram, 512mb of which i am positive is DDR, not sure about the other half, 2.8ghz celeron, and an Intel extreme graphics 3-d integrated memory card <---- SUCKS)

better, more expensive options ($90-$99)

-JATON Geforce FX5700LE 128MB DDR low profile

-Chaintech Geforce FX5200 256MB DDR (for some reason i wrote down DDP...theres no such thing as DDP right?)

Cheaper, but better than my integrated card ($35-$60)

-EVGA 064-P1-NV91-LX Geforce4 MX4000 64MB DDR PCI

-DIAMOND Stealth S60PCI64 Radeon 7000 64MB DDR

-EVGA 128-P1-NV94 Geforce4 MX4000 128MB DDR

Right now i'm leaning toward the first one i listed, but im not sure if low profile is compatible with a desktop. If not, then maybe the second option. If you have any other ideas, please share them.

P.S. all of these cards were recorded from Newegg.com, if you would want to go there and see reviews/specs.

Thanks alot guys. :D

Low profile?

What do you mean by low profile? Well as you said it's a desktop PC. I would chose the first card because the 5200 and especially the MX 4000 bring poor performance for games. Try to go for the Nvidia Geforce 6600 which would be a much better card.

I'd go for the 5700LE too. It should work fine with your computer.
The 6600 doesn't come in a PCI flavor. :(

You don't mention anything about AGP. Do you have it?

Your RAM is all the same type. Different types of ram won't work together.

Thanks guys.

I was wondering where to get good computer help and I definently found the right place! :)

Also, from my knowledge, low profile means the card is not as tall, making it especially fitting for notebook computers.

yes low profile cards are short, usually used in small form factor PCs but they will work in a desktop. The 5700LE is the way to go for a good PCI video card.

Damn!

I really did not notice that you only had PCI slots. That's a different story. The 5700LE is definitely the best out of the ones you listed.
