Two video cards

Hi! I was wondering if there is a way to set up a computer with two different videocards for two different monitors. I have a computer with a normal old crt monitor. I also have a 42" plasma tv in the same room. Is it possible to buy a cheap second graphics card to use with the plasma tv, so that I have two different monitor setups without having to change between each of the monitors, which I have to do when connecting both monitors to the same graphics card?
It is a bit difficult to describe, but I have heard of people having a pci express graphics card for their main computer monitor, and a second pci card or pci express card for their other monitor. Would it be possible to have a second pci express or pci card with hdmi to connect to the plasma tv?
Is there a cheap computer card with hdmi, for movie and picture use? not gaming.

There shouldnt any reason why you can't connect two monitors to a single video card. If yours only has one output, I would recommend going with a mid-ranged video card that can support both of the monitors.

But to answer your question, you can use two different video cards.

I know that. But the reason is that I would like a videocard with hdmi. And I do not want to buy a really expencive gaming card to get hdmi, because the card I have is good enough for gaming and other stuff. I have tried connecting my current videocard to the plasma tv with dvi cable, vga cable and s-video cable. I even tried a vga to hdmi cable. But none of them give me the resault I want. The dvi to hdmi cable was not supported by my current videocard, so the resolution became all messed up.
I would like to know if there is any way to get a cheap second card with hdmi, only for connection to my plasma display, with 720p og 1080i resolution.
