Dont know if any of you gods of computers ever get this, but I started a new job and just customizing my work pc and have completely drawn a blank on two things that I know I know how to do haha.

1. Want "my computer, my doc etc" icons back on desktop while still using XP start menu. I know I could always just make shortcuts but Im sure theres a way to do it properly just cant for the life of me remember.

2. One of my business programs comes up with the Security warning when you start it up. Now I want this to turn on automatically every morning via startup, but this security warning pauses it till you click run. I know theres away to turn them off but yeah blank lol.

Cheers.

1. Start> right click My Computer> select Show on Desktop. Same with the My Documents folder.

2. I too, am drawing a blank on this as well haha

What's the security warning? Is it UAC (User Account Control)?
To turn UAC off simply go to
Start>Control Panel>User Accounts and Family Safety>User Accounts
then on the bottom of the links in the middle you'll see a link to turn UAC on or off.

it's no security risk, it'll just take away the UAC prompts.

To turn off Security Center alerts

1.Click Start and then click Control Panel.

2.Double-click Security Center.

3.In the Security Center, under Resources, click Change the way Security Center alerts me.

4.In the Alert Settings dialog box, clear the Firewall, Automatic Updates, or Virus Protection check boxes, and then click OK.
