I disabled user account control in vista because it was driving me to madness. now I have the annoying red shield with an x through it. does anyone know how to disable the X from showing in my taskbar?
double click it to open up the security center
on the left will be "change the way the security center alerts me", click it
now select don't alert me and no messages
im just going by memory so i may say something slightly different but i suppose you will get the idea.

it made my BF2 cd-key show as being invalid so i had to go into my registry and re-enter it. im hoping there wont be any other issues. have you guys come across any disadvantages of having it turned off?
