Ubuntu 10.04 Netbook Remix problem

Hi,

I've been trying to install Ubuntu Netbook Remix 10.04 on my Elonex Webbook (specs are here http://www.elonex.com/products/webbook_spec.shtm).

The problem is that I get the following error: "no default or ui configuration directive found" followed by a Boot: command. I've tried burning it onto my USB many times, and this has not helped. Obviously it boots from the USB, but it doesn't find... something? I'm not too sure. I've tried going through the BIOS settings and haven't really anything pertinent, so I'm not sure what my next move should be. I'm trying to try the Ubuntu from the USB (since the netbook remix is made for that) and then trying to install it from the same USB, but I have never gotten further than that error.

What should I do?!

Just a little bit of a heads-up again. I downloaded UNetBootin with which I tried to do a frugal install of the netbook remix ISO file from the Ubuntu website. After successfully booting it, I was given the loading screen, after which the screen went black and then static-ky (ie: colours swirling around up and down).

What is this now?

The netbook remix is just the 32bit version of 10.4 with the overlay on it. Try the regular version and see if that gets you better results.

Are you running windows currently on there? If so just download the 32 bit one and since you have a netbook here is another option for you.

Finally the issue might be your thumb drive it's self. I did some reading on google and some people who used certain brand thumb drives like sandisk where unable to get it working. companies like sandisk pre load there usb's with crappy software.

On a side not though sandisk make great mp3 player's or in my case great ogg vorbis players.
