Ubuntu 10.10 Install issues

Okay, So I got my Ubuntu 10.10 disk in the mail today (Ordered 2 weeks ago). I installed it with no problem beside Windows on my desktop (HP D530) and the dell, along with sisters A20m IBM Thinkpad. All three of them had the Install beside the current OS at the top of the allocate space list. When I tried to install the 10.10 on my HP G61 (removed win XP 64bit) the only 2 options were manually select (which I have never been able to get to work at all) and completely erase the disk and install.
Is there any way to get the install beside current OS up if it doesn't show up?

There is normally 3 options in the 10.10 install, erase disk and install ubuntu, install alongside and advanced options. If is install ubuntu alongside windows isnt working then i would recommend creating a partition in windows. Administrative tools > Computer Management > Disk Management and create a partition of your choice. The thing is ubuntu has its on partition format so im not sure why it isnt letting you make your own partition. Maybe there isnt enough room on the hard disk?

But try making your own partition and see what happens :)

Ive already tried a separate partition, but I never can get it set up right to get Ubuntu to run in it.
I going to install the Ubuntu 10.04 on it again, and see if i can install 10.10 over the 10.04 file.

ok, I got 10.04 back on it, but no go on the 10.10. seems that the install beside windows just aint working on this computer.
