ubuntu on p2?

hey guys i just found a P2 Dell computer at the dump today lol and i want to install ubuntu on it. However when i boot up the computer and put the boot cd in the computer ignores it and continues the windows 98 start up. how do I get the computer to boot from the CD instead from hd? Is it under jumper settings? If so which one?

set the bios to boot from cd rom first.

it is, but it's not reconizing the boot cd.

Maybe the CDROM Drive is bad. Remember you did find it in the dump so it is possible that some of the parts may not be working.

i think the cd drive works cause i put the ubuntu cd into the drive and tried to open it for the heck of it. But i couldn't cause the computer doesn't know how to open an iso file.
