Ubuntu Studio problem

So when I start up my computer and select Ubuntu Studio 9.04 from GRUB it gets to the ubuntu loading screen and then I get an error message.

Could not start x server (your graphical environment) due to some internal error. Please contact your system administrator or check your syslog to diagnose. In the meantime this display will be disabled. Please retart GDM when the problem is corrected.

I guess it has something to do with the graphics driver. Is it because I have SLI running? I installed the correct driver for ubuntu studio. Any solutions/suggestions?
