You HAVE to reinstall ... when you change something that critical you HAVE to reinstall :)

i thought it was if your new mobo uses a diff chipset. going from a via to an nforce2 i had to reinstall. but when i got ym abit i didnt have to reinstall cuz it used the same chipset. but it is ALWAYS better to do it just to get rid of old drivers and sstuff. ther kernel is built around your chipset and everythime it boots it looks for your old one. but everyone knws that already lol.

I've had that problem every time I switched motherboards even if it is the same brand. Only thing i really miss about 98 you could just take the hard drive out put it on a new board and go.

Technically yes but which two AMD, ASUS boards dont use a different chipset (and are worth upgrading to/from) :P
