uh a very strange cd-rw drive problem

ok i was just about to install a game, and when it went to rev up in the drive, it just kept going. it didnt level off, then, when it got so high-pitched that it sounded like squeaking, i heard a loud bang. i opened my case and took out the dirve(i already know its shot, i never want to use it again.) i open it up, and there are parts of the instaall cd everywhere. i am guessing that it spun so fast the cd tore apart. i am very confused.i dont have much experiance in this feild, but am willing to learn

LOL thats some extreme stuff! Im guessing your CD drive is faulty and would get it replaced unless you want more fragmented CDs

there is no way the cd drive speed cushed your cd, you must be using thin cd or a cd with those designs like a heart shape.

Actually, that does happen. It's kinda funny. For what they are worth just buy another one.

i find it also funny having cd's shape like diamonds or hearts when it is suppose to be round. cd drives will have a hard time running those

Actually, I've seen them do it. It starts out with a small crack and then just shatters. I think I even have a CD around here somewhere that a player cracked. I just didn't put it back in the player again. I should've.. hehe

maybe... but i really doubt the crack in the CD starts because it spinned too fast.
